Work in progress

An amalgamation of three of my most important homes.

I love how it's so nonsensical and impractical. It manages to capture a lot of what I've been thinking about. All of the measurements are estimated from my memories of each place. It shows the contrasts in both size and material and has the sense of disjointedness that is important in my personal experience of home.

Pretty pleased with myself right now.

Blue Plaques

Trying to rework the plaque idea to make it more appealing both visually and conceptually. The first one took a while to get to this stage because I got hung up on what my 'description' should be. For the next one I plan to abandon the traditional format, as even in the authentic blue plaques there is a great deal of variation between them. I assume this is largely to do with when they were made.
The plaque seems like a natural way of exploring some of my ideas of home and life in London. It should sit well next to the series of miniature brick furniture I am also working on.

Currently thinking it should read this:

Experiment

Mock-up of a brick version of a traditional Southeast Asian bamboo chair/stool from my childhood.

Contradiction of materials, reminiscence of home.

Memory
